Eleanor Reynolds

Eleanor Reynolds writes historical novels featuring female protagonists with a passion for science. She seeks to normalise the presence of women in scientific fields of study by celebrating the contributions made by female scientists to the historical development of different branches of knowledge. Through her writing she hopes to raise awareness of women’s frustrations and discomfort within their lives. She sees her writing as inherently political, ‘fiction for change’ that will help individual readers voice their own concerns about society today. Eleanor believes that popular fiction can be subversive and empowering.

Alongside her writing, Eleanor is an independent academic. Her area of research is the abject female body and female appreciation of the horror genre.
